Mission Statement
The mission of the Okanogan Volunteer
Fire Department is to minimize the loss of life and
property resulting from fires, medical emergencies and
other disasters.
We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education,
fire suppression, medical services and other non-emergency
activities.
We will actively participate in our community, serve
as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently
utilize all of the available resources at our disposal
to provide a service which responds of the emergency
service and preparedness needs of our citizens. |
History
The Okanogan Volunteer Fire Department was
founded in 1909, two years after the founding
of the City of Okanogan. |

Incorporation
The Department incorporated in 1979 with 6
Line officers, 5 corporate officers and 12 regular
members. |
|
|
Structure
The Department is served by 6 Line Officers, 5 Corporate
Officers and 15 to 20 Regular Members in Engineer,
EMT and Fire Fighter positions.
